Getting there

I sort of lost my mood to blog, but I guess this is something worth blogging. It's a dreamcatcher I made for Anika (but of course it's not for free! Hahaha). I forgot where I placed my scissors so I have to National Bookstore later and buy a new pair. Boohoo, waste of money.

Anyway, I'll be making more of these in May, so you might want to place your orders now. And yes, I'm selling them already. If you want something like this, it's Php 299, though.

I'm about to make a blue one with five rings this time, so it's going to be quite more expensive than this one. You can order a dreamcatcher with one ring, it's going to cost Php 199 only! If you want a small one, it's fine. Just e-mail me at carina.morente15@yahoo.com! :)

Two weeks ago, I accompanied Dad to a shootfest somewhere along the outskirts of Roxas City. Manong Anton let me borrow his 50mm lens and I played around with manual mode. Here are my favorite pictures:

I like this one. Look, you can see the shell in midair!

This one's my favorite. It's going to be a classic, I tell you. Dad should print this out and frame it! Hahaha. ;)

Weirdness

Definition of WEIRD

1
: of, relating to, or caused by witchcraft or the supernatural :magical
2
: of strange or extraordinary character : oddfantastic
— weird·ly adverb
— weird·ness noun

Let's stick to its second definition for the mean time, because I am about to share to you occurrences, characteristics, behaviors, and things people find weird about me. I got this idea because someone asked me a question in Formspring, "What are the things people find weird about you?"
Here's what I answered:

- I ONLY eat three fruits - (fuji) apples, ripe mangoes, and peaches in syrup. Yes, it has to be that specific.
- I never touch food I don't eat. Yes, I've never touched a grape in my life and I don't know if it's soft or hard!!
- I'm very picky when it comes to food but I'm fat.
- I don't like football.
- I am contented with just seeing my crush around (and not being friends or anything more with him). Hahaha.
- Last summer, I screamed loud enough for all my siblings to gather around me and ask what happened. I said I tried moving the pineapples that were blocking the cabinet because I wanted to get food and I screamed because I didn't know they were heavy and they feel really weird.
- My blockmates find it weird when I wear pants because they always see me in shorts...that's why I bought 3 pairs of pants last February and I am going to try to wear pants most of the time.
- I REALLY REALLY REALLY HATE BANANAS, but I eat banana cake and bananacue.
- I'm a Psych major but I hate Psych.
- I don't get inspired by Sir Eric Manalastas.
- We used to have "pet" turkeys and chicken running around the house (before they got cooked or stolen)...and I live by the beach.
- I live by the beach but I'm not dark.
- I'm Filipino but I can't speak Tagalog. I swear to God it was my first time (ever) to converse in Tagalog (not scripted) when I entered UP. HEY, I'm Bisaya okay! We don't walk around speaking in Tagalog and as a kid I never watched Tagalog shit on TV. And I never recite during Filipino class. Plus, my mom's family hates Tagalog.
- I didn't know how to use po and opo properly...hahaha.
- I didn't get why this girl called me "ate" when she was obviously older than me.
- I get more pimples in the province than I do in MNL.

I know these are just a few things people find weird about me, but to be honest, I don't even think it's half the things people find weird about The Carina Morente. I'm sure there are a lot of weird things about you, too. Well, be proud of it because weird is good! *wink, wink*

I remember I used to ask my mom why I don't know my relatives from her side of the family. I mean, I know my second cousins from her mom's side, but the rest - none. At all. Well, last night I met some of them (finally)! Everyone was happy because we all had cousins our ages, and even Julia had cousins to play with...at least five of them!

Here's a picture of them. Let me get the names right this time: Aryanna, Pauline, Carmela, Christina, Quadro, Santiago, Manolo, and Lucy. Don't mind Jo and Luis. =))

Here's Julia with Monika. I swear to God when they're not smiling, they have the same mouth AND blank facial expression.

Here's Monika's twin Isabel with whatshisnameagain. :)

And here's everyone having a grand time...

Two days ago, Jo and I accompanied Alphonso to Gaisano because he was going to meet up with his friends. Unfortunately, they didn't show up so we ended up bonding at Greenwich and the toy store. I didn't have money that day and I saw some Star Wars toys, so I had to cross the street to withdraw so I could buy a Darth Vader bobblehead.

I'm looking forward to going back to Manila this month with Juancho, because I'm going to look for more Star Wars collectibles. I think I'm getting quite obsessed now. I don't get why I never really liked Star Wars when I was a kid. I just can't stop thinking about it now, after finishing all the episodes in 3 days. I mean, it just makes so much sense!! Remember my New Year's resolution? Well, I guess for the first time, I'm at it! So, congratulations to me! :)

I'm so crazy. Hahaha. This is one super random post and I'm not even going to reread whatever I wrote here. I've got nothing better to do this afternoon.

Grades

My Chem 1 prof released our grades today and I am immensely proud of myself for getting a 1.75. To be honest, I barely even passed my 2nd LE and I don't contribute much in groupworks. It's not that I don't want to,  it's just that I really suck at Chemistry. Thus, I expected a grade of 2.25, max.

It's also quite upsetting that I used to be a University Scholar last semester and now I'm not even sure if I could make it as a College Scholar because of my 3 other grades, but it's okay with me. I know people might think I'm bragging about my grades because I posted this. Suck it. I worked hard for this, okay? Besides, we don't get anything when we make it to US or CS, just...bragging rights. Therefore, I have the right to brag about my first sem grades. Hahahaha!

I used to be really grade conscious last sem, but this sem, I let go not because I'm patapon, but because I don't want to study because I want good grades. I want to study because I want to learn, and I know that's what's important.

Letters from Julia

We all had that childhood stage where we often wrote letters just for the fun of it. I guess I was around 4 or 5 years old when I was in that stage, and now it's my sister who's like that. She's 7, by the way, and she has crappy handwriting. I'm sorry, Julia but when I was 6, I could write in script already and my print was never a mess. Hahaha. Oh, and I could spell, too.

Anyway, when I arrived home yesterday, Julia surprised me with a letter and polvoron from Goldilocks.

It even had a finger light inside. Or whatever you want to call it.

Well, Julia. What a big problem you have over there! I think you should enroll in hiphop first and lose weight, then when you're sexy already, you could do ballet as to avoid injuries as well. :) Hey, no hate, dear reader! I was sexy when I did ballet years ago! Hahahaha.

Julia's really funny (unintentionally!). Don't stop reading because this is something really worth sharing! Last week (or whenever that was), Mom wasn't feeling well and asked Julia to give her biogesic. She gave Mom the tablet without the packaging already, and Mom took it just like that. Mom asked Jo to check the trash can if what she took was really biogesic, and Jo found out it was actually cough medicine that expired two years ago. Yes, two years ago! Julia got so scared about giving Mom the wrong medicine, so she wrote Mom a letter about it. The next day, Mom found a letter inside her cabinet and it read:

Dear Mom,

If you die goodbye. I'm very very very very sorry that I gave you the wrong medicine.

Love, Julia.

If she's like this now, I wonder what she'll be like ten years from now...
